The girls, who have postponed the departure of their trip to the Bahamas with their mother and grandmother so they can vote next Tuesday, say that meeting Mrs. Valentine and, especially, Governor Warner was quite thrilling! Caroline Dabney was heard asking her grandmother, "Is the governor of Virginia like the president?" There are unsubstantiated rumors that Warner was overheard saying, "You bet it is, young lady!"

Warner Runs Down Driveway to Greet Cheering Supporters by Bill BoozColonial Court Staff Writer January 6, 2006 LYNCHBURG, Virginia -- In a surprise turn of events, Governor Mark Warner bolted from his entourage
to personally greet supporters who had turned out to cheer on Shannon Valentine's
candidacy for delegate.
After a full day of campaigning in the Hill City, Governor Warner arrived
a bit behind schedule last evening for a campaign fund raising event hosted
by Carl and Nancy Moore on Colonial Court in Lynchburg, Virginia. Hearing
from candidate Valentine's daughter, Catherine Valentine, that there were
several young (and some not so young), enthusiastic supporters awaiting
his arrival, Governor Mark Warner, in his last week in the After taking a few minutes to pose with his them for a group picture, Warner rejoined his group and was warmly received by a huge turnout of supporters for Shannon Valentine in the Moores' house.
