| Once you have downloaded and installed iPodder on your system, follow the steps below to configure it. |
| 1. | When you first launch iPodder it may try to open iTunes, but fear not, you can use Windows Media Player if you don't have iTunes. Select Preferences... from the File menu and click on the "Player" tab: | |
![]() Click the radio button by the player you wish to use in conjunction with iPodder, then click the "Save" button on the "Player" tab. |
| 2. | Next, you will want to set iPodder's schedule to check for updates to those Podcast feeds to which you subscribe. You can view the scheduling page by selecting Scheduler... under the Tools menu or by clicking on the last icon on the main page. | |
![]() In my example, I have enabled the scheduler and clicked the radio button to select "Check at specific times." I then checked the first check box and changed the default time to "22:00" or 10 PM. Set it to suit your schedule. |
| 3. | iPodder comes with two default subscriptions, which you can, of course, delete if you like. You will also find links to several Podcast directories included in your new iPodder application. The "Subscriptions" tab is displayed by default when you first run iPodder, but to view the directories, click on the "Podcast directory" tab. | |
![]() Single-click on any of the listings (the text, NOT the "+") and it will expand displaying various "feeds" from that Podcast directory. Select a feed and click on it then click the "Add" button above the directory display panel. An "Add a Feed" panel will appear and, if you really do want to subscribe, click on the "Save" button, otherwise click on the "Cancel" button. |
| You're set!! Now, to subscribe to a Podcast feed that is not in the directory list, such as my Blank Canvas Podcast series, follow the steps on the "Blank Canvas Podcasts" page. | ||
