I retired in 1999 after 32 years from Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), where I started my career in education as a German teacher and ended it as Web Services Specialist with the Department of Information Technology. In that position, I was responsible for the original setup and maintenance of both the FCPS Internet web site in 1995 and the intranet web site - FCPSnet - in 1997. Having worked in the Department of Instructional Services from 1983 to 1997 as a Technology Applications Teacher, I developed and delivered many technology-related courses for the school system. In 1996, I |
began teaching classes for the University of Virginia's Northern Virginia center for continuing education. I developed some of the first Internet/web-related courses for UVa's Northern Virginia Center in Falls Church. Through The InfoTor Group, LLC, I do work as an independant contractor. I develop and teach technology-related courses, but also do web site and web-database development work. In addition, I work in the area of digital photography. I am originally from Pennsylvania. I was born in West Chester and grew up in Somerset. I was graduated from American University in Washington, DC, with a Bachelors in German and history. I earned a Masters of Arts in Educational Technology Leadership from GWU's Educational Technology Leadership Program. I am married to Mary Ann Carscadden Booz from Annandale, Virginia. Mary Ann and I moved from Northern Virginia (outside Washington, DC) to Lynchburg in Central Virginia to be near to our two granddaughters (see about). Our daughter and her family live in Lynchburg and our son teaches high school English in Fairfax County Schools. |
