About The InfoTor Group and Bill Booz

Bill BoozMost recently, I have returned to one of my early hobbies and loves: photography. My business focus is now more aligned with this life-long hobby and I am available to shoot images of your upcoming event or do a portrait session with you or your whole family. Because I travel extensively, I have also compiled a varied collection of images from our travel destinations and sell these images in various formats: as stock images, as framed or printed to canvas fine art images, and as note cards. More recently, I have begun teaching photography classes that cover both the mechanics of shooting as well as the craft of shooting, especially with digital point-and-shoots and digital single lens reflex (dSLR) cameras. I have extensive experience with post-processing my images and offer classes that address this skill too. Please check my Photography Classes section to read about current or planned classes. I am also available to do one-on-one or small group training, if that is something that interests you. E-mail me at whboozimages at infotor.com or call me at 434-238-5571.

I started The InfoTor Group in 1997 to provide personalized development and support services and training to those interested in taking advantage of web technologies to publish and manage information. InfoTor becomes a "group" when I need to tap the expertise of others to assist me in delivering services. I am located in Central Virginia (USA) and have extensive experience in training people how to use technology tools to better manage their information needs. Experienced in the development and deployment of both public and intranet web sites, I can help you with your web site requirements as well.

I also have experience developing web applications using web-database technologies, such as the OpenSource tools, PHP with MySQL. Database-driven web sites allow you to focus on your web site's content, not its construction!

My Background

I spent 17 years as a classroom German teacher, 13 years as an instructional technologist helping and training teachers, administrators, librarians, and counselors, and 3 years as a the first web services specialist in Fairffax County Public Schools. After my retirement from Fairfax, I was project director for a 3-million dollar federal grant to the Graduate School of Education at George Washington University in Washington, DC. From 2004 until June 2011, I worked in the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia as an instructional designer. In 2002 I rekindled my interest in photography by dabbling in digital photography. By 2007 I had migrated to my first digital single lens reflex ("dSLR") camera and was totally hooked again by making images.

In 2010, I was asked to teach photography classes for the local county's (Albemarle in Virginia) community education program and that brought me full circle back to something I love to do: teach others how to do somethng that I have learned to do. I created four different classes for the program and continue to teach for Albemarle County's "Open Doors" program. In May of 2011, I now put my full energy into my own business with special emphasis on the teaching aspect of digital photography. Please visit my Photography Class Catalog section and consider taking a class with me in the near future!

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you whether it is for photographic related services or web design and development services.
