Departure from London in the rain First stop, Winchester and a visit to the cathedral...lunch? On to the "New" Forest, established by William the Conquerer
in 11th Century - damp tour led by 'Ranger Rick' -
picnicers in the rain!!!Onto Christchurch and a cold boat ride to Mudeford Sandbanks "Train" (wooden, motorized) ride back to meet our bus and
Keith (or was it 'John?'), our driver To our hotel in Bournemouth and then out to our authentic Fish
'n Chips dinner at Chez Nick'sDecent turn-in time tonight! |

Heathrow Airport 08:40 AM Depart by bus for London tour - picked up our Blue Badge Guide, Liz, en route 12:30 PM Ended tour at Covent Gardens - watched per- formers and ate Cornish Pasties for lunch 05:00 PM Checked into Novotel Hotel, our home for 4 days 06:00 PM Dinner in the hotel 07:30 PM Circle walk with Declan to and along Thames and
return to hotel to turn in. |

a wonderful, leisurely dinner...no walking tour tonight! |

Our Blue Badge Guide, Felicity, met us at the hotel and,by
bus, we took off for an overview tour of the City of Bath Tour ended at the baths, where we took self-guided tours Short break - oh, this was supposed to be lunch! - before heading
off to costume museumAfternoon free to wander and shop...and, eat lunch?? Casual sitting and drinking outside the hotel before another
lovely Pratt's Hotel mealTea, compliments of the hotel, in the beautiful, old sitting rooms
while the kids played games in the "writing
room." |

Civil departure from Bath and off to the famous Stonehenge stone
circle....gloomy but no rain! Onto Blenheim Palace, but not before some smoke coming
from the trailer brakes...short 'rest' along the highwayBrief stop - could it be lunchtime? - at an all-purpose store for
bathroom, shopping, and lunch! Blenheim Palace, home to the Churchill family and the Duke
of Marlborough Back on the road to head back towards London and our last
night's hotel, the IBIS, at Heathrow AirportSpartan, but clean rooms and a nice buffet dinner |

Interesting buffet breakfast and assembly of the group totake
airport shuttle bus to our terminal LONG lines at Virgin Atlantic and a close boarding of our flight
to Dulles....aaahhh, the end of a wonderful trip....but wait,
we have a 7-hour flight and a 3+-hour
bus trip to
Lynchburg!!!Arrival at Dulles at 3:20 PM; wait for bags then wait for Declan
who was detained by customs!Final arrival back at JRDS parking lot at 9:15 PM!! |
